Betting / gambling

Image result for gambling
MAIN TOPIC
One of the oldest forms of entertainment known to mankind is gamble / betting. Most people just love to try and predict the outcome of something unpredictable. However, I personally am not aware of a lot of board games that use this mechanism. Push your luck is a form of gambling and that features quite often but put gambling out outcomes seem to register less often. Do you agree? Let me know later :0)

SIDE TOPIC
I love Theme park computer games (and can't wait to get my teeth into Planet Coaster) so was wondering if I can get the same enjoyment out of my main hobby of board games. So our side topic is theme park board games.

Hope you enjoy the board game chat :0)

Monday 21st November 2016 questions are:

Q1: How would you describe betting / gambling mechanisms, what's the heart of this mechanic?
Q2: How often do you play game with betting in them? What was the last one?
Q3: What do you like about games with a betting / gambling mechanism?
Q4: What don't you like about games with a betting / gambling mechanism?

Q6: What are you favourite betting gambling games?

Game Boards

MAIN TOPIC
We all love board games right? So for our main topic let's have a chat about a component that doesn't seem to get that much attention, the boards themselves. Are they important? which games have the best boards? Why?

SIDE TOPIC
For a side topic, I thought we would try something different. If it works I'd like to make it a regular feature. What is this feature? Doing a spotlight on a game each week. So we pick a game and have a few questions about the end of the chat just about that game. If you know the game you can share your views on it, if you don't know the game its your chance to ask questions and find out about it. Feels like a win win if people give it a go (maybe).

Hope you enjoy the board game chat :0)

Monday 14th November 2016 questions are:

Q1: I use the term "board games" to describe most tabletop games, some don't have boards (like card games), do you?
