Killer Games

Happy Halloween everyone... A couple of weeks ago we covered spooky games, so that you had time to get your hands on any that you liked the sound of. With today being All Hallows Eve I wanted to do a fitting topic without repeating our Halloween chat.

So today's topic will be "Killer Games". We will chat about games that have slayed other games. What board games have left your collection because another game came in and killed them?

Time Zones Warning!

The UK (where I am based) has left summer time now and moved back into GMT which means for a week or so the timings in the USA will be off by an hour.

This weeks #BoardGameHour will take place at:

12pm PDT - USA west coast
3pm EDT - USA east coast
7pm GMT - UK
8pm CET - Germany

If Nurph is still down!

I generally use Nurph to host http://nurph.com/BoardGameHour (providing its working) but every now and then it goes down and causes problems.

If this happens, I recommend using http://twubs.com/boardgamehour or http://tweetchat.com/room/boardgamehour or Tweet Deck or Hootsuite to follow the hashtag chat. Of course you can just use twitter but sometimes the amount of #boardgamehour tweets can be challenging to keep up with.

What ever you use, try to ensure you add #BoardGameHour to your tweets so everyone can see what you are saying :0)

See you at:

11am (L.A)
2pm (New York)
7pm (UK)

Hope you can make it!

Review - Originz

I'm getting a taste for this reviewing lark. Today i'm going to put my pants on over my trousers (sorry for this reference America) and give you my impressions of Originz - The Superpowered Card Game which is in it's final hours on Kickstarter now...

Survival games

Recently when not playing board games I have been getting my teeth into strategy computer games. They are the closest thing to board gaming I can get when on my own (cause I feel they serve me better than solo playing a board game). Two I have really enjoyed lately are Rimworld and This War of Mine (soon to be a board game by the way). Both are survival games. This got me thinking about how much I like the survival theme, so I thought we could have a little chat about it.

Our side topic, is about how I can improve #BoardGameHour for you. I have had some very testing times recently and I feel that if I'm going to keep doing something in my life, that it should be as good as I can make it. I run #BoardGameHour ever week for you, so would love to hear your thoughts on it's direction.

Hope you enjoy the chat
