Kickstarter and Looking back at 2015

As Board Game Hour enters its 4th year (and I have not missed posting questions one week so far, where is my prize) we are going to have to start to revisit topics. As we are at the start of the year, it feel right to look at a big part of the board game world again, the mighty KICKSTARTER. I would like to look at more detailed parts of kickstarter as side topics in the future, but for now I want us to chat about this creature in the round.

Our side topic is going to be a quick look back at 2015.. The dust is settling and now seems like the right time to think about what happened in the good old days :0)

Monday 11th Jan's #BoardGameHour questions are:

Q1: Have you backed board games on Kickstarter in the past, which games?
Q2: Do you currently back Kickstarter projects? Roughly how many each year?
Q3: What are the pros and cons of Kickstarter for board game players? (10 minutes)
Q4: What are the pros and cons of Kickstarter for publishers?
Q5: Are there any games from kickstarter you wish you could get now but cant?
Q6: Do you like Early birds, Stretch goals and exclusives on KS campaigns?
Q7: How would you feel if crowd funding stopped being possible tomorrow?
Q8: What tips would you give to someone wanting run a kickstarter campaign?
Q9: Side Topic: Looking back at 2015, which  where the most innovative, interesting and fun games released?
Q10: Did any game from 2015 disappointed you, why?
Q11: In general how did 2015 do as far as board gaming goes.. Rank it out of 10, and why?

I hope to see you there :0)

Happy 4th Birthday on Monday to my son Logan too :)

So what is #Boardgamehour

#boardgamehour takes place on twitter once a week. It's a virtual hangout for people who either love board games or want to know more about the hobby.

So the big question is how does #boardgamehour work?

It's simple, to join in all you need to do is add the #boardgamehour hash-tag to your tweets, during the hour. To see what everyone else is saying just search for #boardgamehour!

Making #boardgamehour easier!

To make this live Twitter discussion easier, I have made a room on which we can all use. All you have to do is make sure you are logged into Twitter then go to and log in, using your Twitter account. You don't have to use this, everything will be the same as normal, but if you do us Nurph, it acts like a chat room for twitter and add the Hashtag automatically :0)
For one hour every week, it's time to talk nothing but board games. #boardgamehour happens across the western world Every Monday - start times are:

11am (L.A)
2pm (New York)
7pm (UK)
8pm (Germany)
