Space Opera

Our main #BoardGameHour topic form Monday 21st Dec 2015 is about "Space Opera" games! You might not have heard but a little known movie franchise has just put out its latest offering with virtually zero buzz. So we thought we would ride on the back of side hype (we are not proud) and look at board games that fit that genre:

So of course we will focus on #StarWars to an extent, but there are lots of space operas out their so hopefully we can touch on those too :0)

Our side topic, as we are heading toward the holiday season we will look at gaming with Kids.

Monday 21st Dec's questions are here:

Q1: No spoilers! Do you generally like the Space Opera (#starwars etc) genre?
Q2: Can a board game really capture the epicness of a space opera?
Q3: What are your favourite "Space Opera" games? Why? (10 mins)
Q4: Are there any games coming out with the #Starwars theme that look good?
Q5: Would a game having a #Starwars theme make you more likely to buy it?
Q6: Are there any existing games that would be better with a #Starwars re-skin?
Q7: If you wanted to introduce a #Starwars fan to boardgames what game would you use?
Q8: What tips would you give to someone wanting to design a "space opera" game?
Q9: Side Topic: With the holidays coming have you bought games especially with kids in mind?
Q10: Other than dexterity games what are good games to play with the whole family?
Q11: Do people generally underestimate "none gamers" when picking what games to play?

Future topics include... Next week we look at Holiday gaming and art in games and the week after that we chat about games based on stories/books/fables.

I hope to see you there :0)

What is #Boardgamehour

#boardgamehour takes place on twitter once a week. It's a virtual hangout for people who either love board games or want to know more about the hobby.

So the big question is how does #boardgamehour work?

It's simple, to join in all you need to do is add the #boardgamehour hash-tag to your tweets, during the hour. To see what everyone else is saying just search for #boardgamehour!

Making #boardgamehour easier!

To make this live Twitter discussion easier, I have made a room on Nurph.com which we can all use. All you have to do is make sure you are logged into Twitter then go tohttp://nurph.com/BoardGameHour/chats and log in, using your Twitter account. You don't have to use this, everything will be the same as normal, but if you do us Nurph, it acts like a chat room for twitter and add the Hashtag automatically :0)
For one hour every week, it's time to talk nothing but board games. #boardgamehour happens across the western world Every Monday - start times are:

11am (L.A)
2pm (New York)
7pm (UK)
8pm (Germany)
